Making My Own Compost Bin

Since I started gardening last year, one of the things that I really would like to have is my own compost bin, buying one however can cost more that could exceed my monthly  budget for gardening.

An alternative then is to  build my own, the problem is, I have no idea on how to build one, thus, come the World Wide Web to my rescue.

after doing some research I found this site, in how to make a DIY compost bin and this composting guide.

So looking for a bin, I found an old container that I'm suppose to use before as a garbage bin with its cover in tack. A perfect container! being round it will much easier for me to roll it around to mix its contents.

Now the not really hard part of drilling holes around the bin.

For starters I drilled around and at the bottom of the container, using a 3/4" bit, since my electric impact drill was stolen a few months back, I have to borrow one from a friend, the good thing is that what I was able to borrow was a portable drill, that made it easier to drill holes all around the container, less the power cord.

The end result was great, and now I have placed it near the garden and have placed some materials in it.  Normally, it would take more or less 4 months for the contents of the bin to turn into a usable compost, for now, I just have to wait and visit the bin from time to time and see the results.
